Dread comes.
It’s the consequence of living in a broken world. A financial bomb or perhaps, some health issue springs from nowhere. Maybe it’s not your life. It’s a kid that you care deeply for.
King Jehoshaphat (2 Chron 20) got such news one day. And he was one of the few good guys in a long line of godless, vile pretenders.
Some scouts came to him with this news. An army is advancing on us; its vast and closer than we thought. From all human perspective, the writing was on the wall. It’s over.
But here’s the interesting twist. He proclaimed a fast for the entire nature and gathered them together. Check out the gist of his prayer- his very public prayer:
- We know who you are God
- We know what you’ve done
- We know who we are
- We know our limitations
- We trust you God
- The battle is ultimately up to you
Want to feed yourself the true story? Want to transform your thinking? Rehearse those six things. Have them in your gun and have the ‘safety’ off. For dread- both minor and major- comes uninvited.
